Odyssey

Four weeks ago I applied for employment in our local hospital. Finally, I received a message inviting me for an orientation. I’ve been really bumming around for quite some time and this news got me wholly excited. Today’s actually the first of my 3-day orientation. No, make that “our” 3-day orientation because I’m with 40 other nurses hopeful for employment.

Hospital physical tour, personnel acquaintance, and a lecture of service policies make up the three-day orientation. Now, the cherry on top is an examination which defines it all. So I really have to be listening and should familiarize all the topics. Quite actually it is nerve-racking for me and I never felt this since board exam results. I certainly need to be on the job. I’ve had enough of spending time aimlessly, and thoughts of triviality. This will be my ticket to jump-start the life I envisioned mine to be.

A number of my batch mates took a detour from the nursing profession on a temporary note. Some became medical representatives, others ventured on modest business opportunities, but most entered call center agencies. I for one thought of becoming a call center agent myself. It’s a good training ground and from what I’ve heard the pay is a worthy price. However, I couldn’t consider being away from home for another while and besides the call to practice nursing without delay rings a bell strongly.
"I certainly need to be on the job ... This will be my ticket to jump-start the life I envisioned mine to be."
Opportunity hollers at me and must grab it with both hands. I am filled with hopeful anticipation through this journey. Patience is of the essence. Nonetheless, I must put my best foot forward.

Adrenaline rush.

Lake Sebu, from its humble beginnings now emerges as a top tourist destination in the Philippines. A hidden gem rediscovered as it features a bounty of natural wonders. It prides itself with scenic waterfalls, lakes, adorable flora and fauna. Resorts can be found anywhere, and several adventure getaways amidst the conventional way of living.

Lake Sebu also boasts what ought to be as the highest zip line throughout the country. Over a hundred-meter ride across and above its picturesque waterfalls. Hence, I won’t allow myself to be one-upped. Nervous and excited, I was filled with anticipation as I am going to experience it for the very first-time. I brought my camera with me to capture a lifetime memory.

The second we were airborne I outstretched my arms forward and flew like superman. Haha! Flying felt like it’s the amazing thing in the world. Adrenaline rushed through my veins for the first few seconds of the ride. At the same time, a breathtaking imagery greeted me and my sister. Amazing greens and rainbows along the waterfalls welcomed us as we set out. It was one hell of a ride!

Share. Still shots from the video I took:

So you're persimmon, eh?

It’s my first time to eat a persimmon fruit. I’ve heard of it before and just drool at the thought of it. I saw it at the mall today and snatched the chance to satiate my curious palate.

I actually love the taste beacuse it's so sweet.

Aaaah~ hohoho (^o^)~! ♥

melvonn: eXposed

Yes, I am a first time blogger. It's not that I want to create a great fuss out of it but I am presently happy that I am finally on track. Actually, I have been thinking about this for a very long time and I ended up doubting myself for most of the tide. It felt, for me that, I don't have the skill in writing so I didn't really bother.

I do admit that I am of a shy personality, quiet, observer and a listener more often than not. Remarkably, my friends and the people whom I meet would find me as I one. To be suit as a center of attention is unlikely of me. Truthfully, explaining myself and sharing my thoughts or confiding my emotions are not my forte. Hence even before I thought to myself that I needed an outlet to cope with my lack of expression.

Years back I attempted to launch a blog of my own. Truly I didn't have the backbone before. Confidence as well is an issue of mine. But now with an ample amount of self-assurance and after some major contemplation I am ready to be exposed.

BTW, I'd like to share one of my favorite quote:
"Confidence comes not from being always right but from not fearing to be wrong." -Peter T. McIntyre
