Odyssey

Four weeks ago I applied for employment in our local hospital. Finally, I received a message inviting me for an orientation. I’ve been really bumming around for quite some time and this news got me wholly excited. Today’s actually the first of my 3-day orientation. No, make that “our” 3-day orientation because I’m with 40 other nurses hopeful for employment.

Hospital physical tour, personnel acquaintance, and a lecture of service policies make up the three-day orientation. Now, the cherry on top is an examination which defines it all. So I really have to be listening and should familiarize all the topics. Quite actually it is nerve-racking for me and I never felt this since board exam results. I certainly need to be on the job. I’ve had enough of spending time aimlessly, and thoughts of triviality. This will be my ticket to jump-start the life I envisioned mine to be.

A number of my batch mates took a detour from the nursing profession on a temporary note. Some became medical representatives, others ventured on modest business opportunities, but most entered call center agencies. I for one thought of becoming a call center agent myself. It’s a good training ground and from what I’ve heard the pay is a worthy price. However, I couldn’t consider being away from home for another while and besides the call to practice nursing without delay rings a bell strongly.
"I certainly need to be on the job ... This will be my ticket to jump-start the life I envisioned mine to be."
Opportunity hollers at me and must grab it with both hands. I am filled with hopeful anticipation through this journey. Patience is of the essence. Nonetheless, I must put my best foot forward.

Today's Confession

As much as I wanted to project a happy and carefree personality, it strikes me back and I'm only fooling myself. I've never been truly happy and it gets hard for me to live by every day.

Melvonn: Optimistic, Hopeful, and Fresh

The thing that’s so special about the New Year is that it gives you a positive vibe and an optimistic attitude to face a fresh start in life. It provides you the opportunity to recall on the past, recollect significant moments, and ponder upon our choices and decisions. The New Year paves way for us to redeem ourselves from our shortcomings and to inspire us in making the most out of our lifetime.

Every day I always look forward to a great day ahead of me. Though when things don’t work out my way, to accept and to look on the brighter side is the manner I do. I consider it as my motivation and a learning to move on. Now I have a whole new year to look forward to. Nonetheless, I hope that this year would be good to me and fulfill my dreams and expectations. I know I am new person emerging from all life’s challenges and polished by untimely circumstances.

With confidence I am ready to pace through the time knowing that God is with me. ♥

Ito talaga ang Sentimyento ko

I have always been critical about this certain topic ever since. Now the event that has been knocking on me and all the more in dreams is unfolding in days' time. I find review classes as a critical tool in preparation for a major battle, that is, the nursing licensure examination. Moreover, I also think that it's a form of assessment of how I was as a student before. I admit that I wasn't that outstanding of a learner. Probably I am on the average scale, I may come short at times but I definitely redeem myself on that note. Looking back, of course, I have had my own regrets. Anyhow, I'd be more serious and focused this time around.

I am now en route for my ultimate judgment. Even if I won't emerge through this with flying colors, I know that I will face a humble success. Yet, I pray for optimism and the determination that will never fade.

I know that God is with me through this and His Holy Spirit is guiding me. Though I am aware that the major effort will come from me. Nonetheless, whoever gets to read this I hope that you are praying for me as well. ♥

Lazy Lazy Day

It's been raining the whole day today. Honestly, for me, I really feel a sense of warmth with this type of cold weather. Ahhh~~

I only visioned of one desirable way to better spend this day and that is --- SLEEPING.  kekeke~~ I didn't even open my reviewer today. Anyway, I'll be getting sleepy eventually. A good reason to be lazy. >.<

But seriously, what I love about the rain is the touch of the cool wind and the symphony it creates as it pours. ♩♫♬ It seems as though, for me, the rain provides a positive atmosphere. Just a relaxing feel. (^o^)~

Oh well, I just wanted to share. OK~! Imma get bed down, catch a wink and doze off. ♥

A serious take on 'Something'

I just came out from a heated conversation. Now I find it tricky to compose my spirits and focus on what I intended to say. Ugh! My mind is still processing thoughts that should’ve been said on that earlier dialogue. Anyway, it ended with a resolution so there’s no reason to dwell on it more. [And the ‘comforting ‘comes from me still]. >.<

This blog entry is about this by the way:

I should say I missed out on a lot of things especially within the last three months. And in particular, me looking back through note pads and books. Above all, reading, comprehending and the likes in preparation for a defining endeavor.

Life after college: Sedentary defines it just fine. Not anything synonymous to ~in good physical shape, active or exciting, and inspiring. Although it’s good to note that I appreciate this break I always sought after quite a few years of education. The first few days of this long awaited slumber and until probably the first month or so was truly pleasing and relaxing. However, it came to a point that every day was just predictable. Needless to say, the routine became boring on a daily basis.

I don’t know why but the liberty I had turned out to be uninteresting. Not missing the schedules of my favorite TV shows, being updated with latest showbiz gossips, and knowing all these html codes is nothing noteworthy. There’s really nothing significant I gained knowledge of I must say. On several occasions, I’m disappointed with the times I’ve been busy doing nothing. I thought those hours should have been spent reading, reviewing and answering some practice tests. I guess I claimed and abused this break too much. Although I wanted some change on the habits, there came no motivation. TT_TT [~~oh my!]

I came to realize it just this time. The point of attending the review is to ‘review’. Seriously, it’s difficult to review some concepts you hardly recognize or even know nothing at all. Webster defines review: To look back upon, as in memory; think of retrospectively. As I have said, the point of attending the review is to ‘review’. It’s not really the type of venue to begin learning with. But now, I have a full month to be motivated. There's still hope for me.  I guess I have the necessary reason to start scanning some notes and assess my capability on how ready and prepared I am.

I’ve given up on playing ultimate Frisbee though my friends don’t know why. In addition, I’m thinking to be dormant on several online social media I am on. Goodbye to twitter and facebook for the time being.

Moreover, it’s worth mentioning that I take this matter on a very serious angle. Nevertheless, I pray for enthusiasm, truth and discipline. ♥

Not as we.

I have a new song favorite titled “Not as We” by Alanis Morisette and I first heard it from the third episode of House, MD Season 4. Personally I think that Alanis’ music is great and this particular song is fantastic. The song captivated me the moment I've heard it. It has a melancholic feel which I thought goes with my character. Except that the lyrics has a sense of inspiration, confidence, and strength which I like the most -- at least the chorus. *wink

After hearing it completely I initially thought of her emerging from a break-up. Until I read the lyrics to which I contemplated solemnly. There’s more connote to it rather than breaking-up. Let’s admit that there are times in our life where we preoccupy ourselves as to what might other people think of. The next thing we know is instead of us leading our lives we’ve let them overcome us. It might hurt us in the end which makes it even harder to carry on.

There are moments in my life that I spent reassessing myself. As of this instance, this song very much describes my life. I really don’t know what to expect in the future. Yet I am aware that now I'm responsible enough to start thinking for myself. To take risks and to be not afraid of the consequences and to be better by making the right choices. It might lead me to stumble at times but I need to move on and carry on the lesson.

Parang ang dali lang namang sabihin ano? Pero ganyan naman talaga ang buhay, it's a cycle. It's not always gloomy. Sabi nga ng isang kanta there's a rainbow always after the rain. Wala naman yatang connection? Haha. But I just want to say gusto ko lang talaga ang kanta. [Laughs]

Even though the song appears to be sad, I hope that you’ll enjoy nonetheless. Watch the video here. ♥
